Enjoy up to 10 hours of wireless audio with these Sony noise-canceling headphones. They produce rich sound by playing at audio frequencies of 3-40,000Hz and have a closed-back design that blocks outside noise for a better listening experience. These Sony noise-canceling headphones sit comfortably behind the neck and work with or without the 1m wire.
A: Yes they do to a certain extent as I am a truck driver and have a serious amount of background noise when I'm driving and the only headset that I've found to get rid of all noise is the blueparrot headsets but these do run a pretty close second as the person on the other end could hear some background noise but not enough to be distracting while talking, so I hope that helps.
Q: Can I use a power bank for WI-1000x??
A: Yes. I tried hooking them up to a power bank I have and they charged! Going on a trip soon and needed to test that as well.
A: The answer from the Sony rep above is misleading. I bought these ‘phones last night and downloaded the app. The “standby mode” field does not allow or prevent the headphones from turning off after five minutes if not connected to BT or a wired connection; to me it seems to do nothing. When I disconnected BT on my phone, five minutes late the ‘phones turned off regardless of the state of that setting in the app. I have a very hard time with the concept of a wireless noise canceling device that MUST be connected to continue working. As a traveling professional who frequently flies internationally, I want a noise canceling set that allows me to cancel noise but not be connected to anything else while I try to sleep. These ‘phones do not do the job. I returned the ‘phones just now. Sony won’t get my business unless they come out with a fix.
Q: Do these have volume control on the neckband and are they able to be synced with a smart tv?
A: Yes there is volume control on inside of left side. My TV has Bluetooth, but it's suggested to only use with Audio. As there is some latency with Bluetooth in general. These do have a low latency setting in the app, and it seems to work really well, but if you focus on people talking there lips will move ever so slightly before what you hear. This is Bluetooth in general.
Q: What does the B in WI1000X/B means? Is it an updated version to the WI1000X ?
A: Hi Johannes, The last letter of the headphones indicates the color of the headphones. WI1000X/B means color black model and the WI1000X/N means color gold model. Check this link for the specification of this headphones. https://docs.sony.com/release//SPECS/WI1000XB_mksp.pdf Regards, -David
A: Yes, I use both my computer and an Apple wall charger to charge the headphones. There is no issue with either.
Q: Do the ear buds retract or adjust in any way
A: They do NOT retract. There is a groove along the edge of each side of the neckband that you can push the cords into for storage or to reduce the amount of loose cord when wearing, but the cords aren't overly long, so I don't even bother with it when I'm wearing them.
Q: Does the microphone cancel background noise when on a call?
A: For you yes, turning on noise cancellation will kill noise around you, but only for you. The person on the other end will still hear noise around you. It is helpful if you're having problems hearing the other person over background noise though.
