Can you mute while on a call. I want to take some conference calls on my way to work and need to mute myself. Is there a way to mute while on the call from the headphone. I know i can always mute from the phone. Thanks. null

Yes, you can mute by pushing the volume up and down buttons simultaneously, but that's a little tricky, so it might be easier to mute from the phone.

The previous answer is partially true, the sony's do not have mute button. There ARE however other wireless and wired headphones with a mic mute function. The plantronics PLT Back Beat 100 for example will mute the microphoone when pressing vollume down for 2 seconds. They are my go-to for work calls.

Hello Ketan,

 I definitely think that that would be a great feature to have on a headset. However, there is no headphone on the market that contains such an ability; that includes the Sony 1000x's. Looks like you are stuck to manually muting your calls from your phone...
