I spent several weeks researching 55" 4K Smart TVs orepping for Black Friday and the Sony XBR-810C was hands down the best TV available for under $1,000 (BB Black Friday price was $999). The main difference over the $999 55" Samsung (my #2 choice) is the PQ for watching movies in a darkened room and doing PC monitor duty. The Samsung 55" uses an IPS panel which gives wider viewing angles, but negatively impacts the ability to render true black. At best it gives a dark grey. Also, the Samsung cannot process 4K video from a PC. The Sony has neither of these issues and has a better overall PQ then the comparably priced Samsung.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From my research, the Sony is true 120hz refresh which looks really clear. Samsung is 60hz but they marketing it is enhanzed to 120. Look up the reviews for both tvs on rtings or other sites. Sony wins almost every time with this tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will have to gauge picture for yourself, but Sony is AndroidTV, which I like.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can only talk about the comparison in-store, but 4K on the Sony looked better, more realistic than the 4K on the Samsung.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've looked st the Samsungs and Sonys I will be buying one this week either the Sony 55X810C or the 55X850C . OTOH The Samsungs are decent they have the Samsung color and Sonys have the Sony color it's a preference thing .The 55X810C has outstanding contrast and good processing and that is basis of a good picture .
