A:AnswerIt has to be plugged in. Carplay can only be activated when it is plugged in or via wifi (in head units that support that function). Carplay does NOT support a bluetooth connection between the phone and the head unit.

A:Answeri can't answer this directly but i know that it wouldn't accept my existing SiriusXM antenna. However, I was able to install the new antenna in the fairing on the trunk deck. it's going to depend on how long your wiring is and what type of connectors come into play.
