Reverse polarity doesn't have effect to the sound. It creates a potential shock hazard, but it's usually an easy repair.

A:AnswerYes, I have a Sony 7.2, 125 watt per channel and receiver and a JBL 7.2 speaker system with a 250 watt subwoofer and it compliments the system very well. As long as your receiver, amplifier or sound bar has the appropriate connection for a subwoofer it should be a nice addition.
A:AnswerHello Tdog85! Based on the specifications of the unit HTCT80 Sound bar it is required to connect only the Subwoofer model SSWCT80 to avoid any harm to the Soundbar. For more information, please check page number 8 of the instructions manual of the Soundbar using the link below. According to the Subwoofer SA-CS9 specifications, it can be connected directly to a receiver that provides one of the following ports: MONO OUT jack, MIX OUT jack, SUBWOOFER output jack, SUPER WOOFER output jack or you can connect the speaker terminals of the amplifier to the SPEAKER IN terminals instead: https://docs.sony.com/release//HTCT80_EN_ES_FR.pdf ~Jeannette

A:AnswerYes / No. You would need a y adapter for the RCA on your receiver. Or place a unit on each side next to you front speakers and run the speaker wires through the high input on your sub. But no you can not directly Series them.
