It isn't the best in low light. Can't lie, it's not a f1.8 or anything of the sorts, but it isn't really really slow either, I guess it really depends on what you're shooting. And it could be both a portrait and landscape lens with that range, although it won't take as crisp shots as the more portrait oriented primes. Then again, depends on what your actual need is.
