A:AnswerMust have? No. Very Very good to have? Absolutely. New controllers do NOT come with a charging cable. If they're supposed to then Sony has some serious Quality Control issues because NONE of my 3 spare Dual Sense controllers had a cable in the box.

They seem to only release a few of them at once, similar to the supply issues with the PS5 console, headset, and media remote. I just bought this charging station a few minutes ago but it went out of stock literally a minute after I purchased it. Honestly, it’s just luck. I haven’t been lucky enough to purchase the PS5 console yet but I have most of the accessories purchased and ready to go for when I do get the console.

A:AnswerIt was definitely available before Pedro, it went up on preorder at the same time as the PS5 and all the other accessories. I believe all the accessories took a few days or so to sell out compared to PS5 units though. I managed to get one.
To answer your question Chowmein, there will probably be more allocated units available for purchase just before or right on release day of the PS5. Keep your eyes peeled.
