A:AnswerHi Donald, It gives you the option to use 2 subwoofers. 5.1 is one of its functions for a single subwoofer setup. You may refer to page 16 of this link:

A:AnswerThe 145W output power rating is using 6 ohm speakers at 1 kHz with 0.9% THD (total harmonic distortion) with only one channel driven. Not by any means a very meaningful spec. The 90W rating is for two channels driven with 6 ohm speakers with the THD at 0.09% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. This is much more meaningful and is enough of a standard spec to be useful when comparing receivers. Note: With all 5 speakers driven the output power will be noticeably lower. I was unable to find an independent review that tested the output power with 5 speakers driven. Also note that none of these numbers are the so-called "music power," a totally bogus spec that was used back in the last century to promote cheap amps.
A:AnswerThis is really a common sense question to be honest. I'm not trying to come across the wrong way, but it's easier for me to put it in simple terms. Most of my speakers have always handle less per channel than the unit that drives it. In your case 145W out, but your speaker only handles 100W ? If I understand you. Here's the deal. NEVER in my life have I ever maxed out the volume on a stereo head unit EVER! You stated you have BOSE which is GREAT speakers, I have Klipsch, also great. Let me tell you, running my volume to 1/4th the way will be more than most people can handle; hence I will never see 145W per channel. If I took mine to half volume, I would literally blow out my windows. Now I have "maxed" out car stereos before and when they reach a certain point there is distortion, this is the point where the speaker cannot handle the power now more, back it down or blow the speaker. It really is that simple. This unit should be just fine for you. And if you ever get to half volume, your speakers will be fine, but your neighbors my not LOL
A:AnswerThis receiver is bluetooth enabled, so bluetooth device that outputs audio should work, regardless of the device's manufacturing date. I don't see why it wouldn't.

A:AnswerHi Photosteve,
If the receiver is connected to your Sony Bravia TV using HDMI cable using ARC on both ends. There is no need to connect an optical cable. All you need to do is turn on the Bravia sync on your TV and receiver. Check this link for more information.
