“Do the cameras have to have a separate power source or when you plug in to DVR that acts as the power source? Also if you have existing cameras can they plug in to the DVR?”

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. Yes, you will have a total of 3 power supply units. One for the DVR, one that supports 4 cameras, and another that supports 2 cameras. Not all cameras are cross-compatible. Provided the model information for your current cameras we will be able to confirm if the units will work together. Please try again later.The cameras come with 2 cables.1 from a power splitter that plugs in the wall,the other the camera video cable that plugs in the DVR.The splitter can have 2 or 4 or 6 power cables coming off 1 wall plug.Existing cameras-most likely no,but you can check Swann's site or Amazon to get exact models that are compatible.
