if you have a relatively 'new' Monitor/TV device, there will be at least 2 HDMI ports, at least 1 component audio/video input panel and even perhaps a composite audio/video input panel. If it's a little older, it might even have a VGA and/or DVI input port(s). This device comes with a very short A/V component cable that is just 3 wires-L/R audio (usually a combination of white and black, maybe red and black) with RCA plugs coded as such and a Yellow component video line. The device also has an HDMI output port. So, pick one. Use that. Select an input via the remote (if it's a TV with a tuner in it, because the "monitor" might not be equipped with multiple inputs). The question is: why hook it up THROUGH your play station, unless the play station is provisioned for it in a similar manner as described? If you want to operate it as an audio playback device at the same time your gaming on your play station, plug it up to a powered speaker system or though your stereo. If you want to view and/or see audio/video data from both play station and this device at the same time on the SAME MONITOR/TV, you'll need a few other professional level devices to make that happen. And these are available from several online retailers. Search it out.
