As with *any* USB docking station ***DO NOT** use this for your system drive. USB3 is way too slow. Keep all your system files and programs and cache files on internal drives only.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know if I understand your question... THe device is USB 3.0 so it can run pretty much as fast as the HD you put in it.... want it to get faster, get a faster HD (solid state drive) Better yet, put a SSD in your computer, it will really take off! (so long as your motherboard doesn't suck) Big things to remember, a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. It doesn't matter if you have fast memory if you have a slow processor. Doesn't matter if you have a fast processor if you have slow memory. It all comes together to make a fast computer, so make sure you check everything! But usually it's just the hard drive :)

The throughput is not going to be faster then USB 3 specification that is if your computer is USB 3 compatible otherwise it will run at USB 2 or 1 depending on what your computer specifications are. If you use both slots, for two disks, the transfer rate will be split between the two drives. It can't run them both at their maximum speed at the same time. It has to share the single cable between the dock and the computer. It will also be limited by the rotation speed and other factors of the HD(s).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is probably not what you're looking for in terms of increasing speed. A sata connection inside the PC is going to be the best way for connecting a drive to the PC. This is merely for cloning or to expand the number of drives. If your computer is running slow off of a hard drive made you need to perform a disk cleanup. My suggestion is to look into buying an SSD to dramatically increase the speed of startup and load times.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t believe this product can help speed up your computer in any way. What it can do is let you take a hard drive from your old computer and access it. You can also insert a hard drive - either a new one or one from an old computer (can be from a MAC or PC) and use it as an external hard drive.
