If you buy the hardwired kit, this cam will record in parking mode.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there! The dash cam can continue to actively record with the car parked and the ignition off when it is directly connected to the car battery via the fuse box (hardwiring) with our Thinkware Hardwiring Cable kit. In Parking Surveillance Mode, the dash cam will only save footage upon impact or motion in an effort to minimize power consumption and extend Parking Surveillance Mode operation. We hope this answers your question! Please contact us directly by phone (1-844-865-9273) or email ([email protected]) if you have other questions. Thinkware Customer Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased the F50 and had Bestbuy install the hard wire kit ..The F50 has the parking mode only when hard wired in ... I am very happy with this inexpensive alternative..in park mode it also senses motion in front of the camera .... It also records sound ....
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on your car. My older vehicle will continue to charge/output power whether or not the car is running. I have to unplug the dashcam or risk draining the car battery while I'm away. My other car, on the other hand, automatically cuts all power to the outlets when not running, which causes the camera to turn off. You may want to consider getting a small USB camera and a solar charger that you can leave on your dash with the camera attached. As long as it's charged and getting plenty of sun the camera would continue to record.
