• Yes… you don’t need a smartphone for use.. set up can be done on a PC or a Mac… then return the SD card back to the camera

• Hello There, The Dash Cam will function and record normally without the smartphone. You can then remove the SD and playback footage on your home computer.

• Yes, it will. You need the smart phone to better set it up. It is not needed for its regular operations. You may need a SD card reader for your iPad or Mac if you don’t have one. That I have not done.

• It comes with an sd card and adapter so you can download it to a computer, but only on an iPad if it has a slot for an sd card. Recommend getting an sd card with plenty of memory for long trips
