Wi-Fi is not always 100% reliable for HD video streaming 24 hours a day. I have 5 Tivo Mini's. I wouldn't want my Internet connection taking that hit all the time. Besides you can use your coax in your house with it for network connections. It doesn't even add traffic to your existing ethernet connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think Tivo didn't put wireless in the mini to avoid people calling all the time with problems. The MOCA works so much better. It never stutters.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry this unit is an accessory to a Roamio or Roamio Plus and it needs a hard wired connection, I'm guessing they didn't want to chance inadequate wifi connectivity as a method of streaming.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TiVo Roamio will use WiFi to get it's content update from TiVo. It would not be able to stream content over the WiFi. WiFi is simply not fast or reliable enough to constantly be streaming HD video.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That's right. No WiFi. MOCA is easy though and you can get the adapters pretty reasonable through Tivo. If I was starting fresh, I would buy one Bolt with the six tuners and a couple of Mini's to outfit the whole house. I have four screens and the Bolt on an Ethernet or MOCA connection would likely handle it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.WiFi is spotty at best, unless you have a really strong really stable WiFi network you can count on dropped shows or pixilation if you were to use WiFI on the Mini. TiVo wanted to ensure the best possible performance of the TiVo Mini that's why they didn't include WiFi on this box. Using MoCA (which is what the TiVo Roamio Pro, Plus, Premiere 4 and Premiere XL4 all have built in) With the purchase of a $5 MoCA POE filter your home's existing COAX (Cable TV lines) will send the single with no issue. And the WiFi on the Roamio is for streaming services like Pandora and Netflix which are optimized for wireless, which is why you will notice a programs quality drop if the internet signal is to slow or your wireless drops below a certain point. It's good but Wireless isn't the best for streaming video, hardwired is always preferred.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No WiFi built-in, but works well with AC wireless extenders!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No Wi-fi because it tends to have high drop out and latency. You can buy an 802.11 bridge and give it a go. Heard it works.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because you have to use a Ethernet cable or Coaxial cable with a MoCa adapter for it to work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't need wifi, the main units have it (Bolt and Roamio) It can communicate with them via coax or you can purchase devices that allow the Internet to be distributed via your electrical outlets.
