• I don't know if it does but remember laptops are fragile handle with care it may last you longer. Common sense is to make children use at a desk or table for better care and longevity.

• This is the 5th Toshiba laptop in our family of 5 and we have never had a hinge to break.

• My Toshiba has a busted hinge on one side only, as well as the screen popping apart on that same side.

• I think some of the older models are better. These hinges seem delicate but I have never had hinges break on any of the six prior models I've owned-all Toshiba.
