Can the 2.4GHz band be shut off on this router? null

Yes. It can be shut off. You just need to give it a different password from the 5G. I use the 2.4 for my lights outside. And have a different password for it. The wi-fi for everything else is 5G. Just make sure you change the automatic sign in to manual or it will automatically go to that whenever you are close to router.
