Good router for different frequencies
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is solid built. If you are computer savvy and use older devices that do not run on 5G this is a must. You are also able to program it to restart every night or at whatever time you desire. I found this feature useful in preventing lag. Good overall product.

Good so far
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't speak about long-term use as I have only had it up and working for about 2 weeks. What I can tell you is that the setup was easy. I haven't experienced any problems with it yet and the tri-band is nice for designating what connections to use for what devices. I am in the process of trying different ways to use it, such as smart connect for my security system or not. I have a ranch style home of about 1800 square feet and it covers all of it with no problem.

Good Router to Own it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the speed and 3 different frequencies it’s having. Never regret to own this one. Earlier I had A6 (1200Mbps) one. This one is much faster and more device connection capability. Also very slim and square size.

Solid router with very good overall value
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At the time of this review we will have used this router for ~2 months. Before this purchase we went through 3 different wireless routers in under 2 years. The Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 fared the best before the radio signal quality began to dip (this started after about one year of use). We tested other Netgears and an Asus router but they did not perform well in our house. Our house is a tri-level with a chimney running right through the middle of the floor plan, so we needed to find a router that could effectively penetrate the mortar between floors. Our internet source enters the house from a non-ideal location so router position cannot be changed without additional costs. After 2 months of use I can say that the TP-Link Archer AC4000 is by the far the most consistent solution for us. Main floor level range for 2.4 and 5GHz bands is reliable, and the 2.4 GHz band consistently reaches corners and diagonals better than all the other routers we've tried. It doesn't reach every weird angle of the house but at this price point I don't expect it to. In the past we've needed to restart the Nighthawk for the odd connectivity issues but I have not yet needed to do that, either. I don't have number data to include with this review, but I can safely say that wireless range and signal consistency is very good. Phones do not randomly disconnect from this router like they did with the Nighthawk. Speed has not been an issue before but it's still good here. After 2 months of heavy use by 10+ devices, mostly wireless, I can confidently recommend this router. Setup is easy as it was with Netgear and Asus models. The build quality is solid and the AC4000 performs as well as we need it to.

Great performance for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great router, especially for the price! I have 1000Mbps download and 20Mbps upload internet. It works better than the previous Links's and Net-gear routers I've had. The GUI is very user friendly with some great features like parental controls and live monitoring however the features are buggy and sometimes don't work at all. I've read other customers have had the same experience. Software updates aren't frequent, I'm sure they stick with the "if it's not broken don't fix it". Overall great router for the price but it could be improved!

Q: QuestionI have a very old house of about 2000 square feet. Will this router cover my home?
Asked by JASP1.
- A:Answer Any router could have issues with lathe and plaster walls, this router can do the square footage, but you’ll just have to try it. The thicker the lathe and plaster, the more difficult and location will also play a role.

Q: QuestionWill this router cover my 3500 square foot house?
Asked by Hal.
- A:Answer To ensure the best possible WiF isignal, it is important to make sure placement is as optimal as possible. Reducing obstructions and placing the router in a central location will help ensure your signal reaches the areas you need. In some cases, if relocating is not possible, or if your environment/home requires it, using a mesh WiFi solution such as our Deco Mesh series may be a suitable solution. Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: QuestionWould it work with spectrum WiFi? And how much ping would I get in pub g and fortnite I get 30 now but it feels like 150
Asked by Austin.
- A:Answer Yes, our AC4000 WiFi router can be used with any Internet service by connecting to the modem via Ethernet. Your ping will vary depending on numerous factors including, but not limited to: which medium you are connecting to the router with (i.e. Ethernet or WiFi), your Internet provider's speed and latency, and if connecting via WiFi, which band, how far from the router you are, and the WiFi capabilities of your gaming device. Q: QuestionDoes this come with a preset password? I don’t have a computer to set it up with, only iPads.
Asked by Nikki.
- A:Answer I set the router up using the TP-Link Tether app on my smartphone. The app detects the router, then asks you what you want the SSID and password to be for each of the 3 wireless networks. I had it setup in less than a minute.
