• Hi! This TP-Link Tri-Band AC3200 Wi-Fi router is not a modem, so you will still need a cable modem to use in conjunction with the router.

• This isn't a modem combo. You still need a modem and then plug into this to get your wifi - if you are using a cable company you can opt for just modem which will save you $5/mo on average or you can purchase a combo unit that does both.
