• when new standards are developed, usually the device will be compatible with previous standards. I choose this to upgrade to WiFi 6 but it will work will all the previous standards, WiFi 5,4 etc.

• Access this WiFi and router through IP address in web browser, so yes as long as old system has both an internet connection and web browser. connectivity also with LAN, Ethernet and local network card.
