There should not be an issue with temperature. If the switch is mounted in an enclosed garage there would not be any issue. However is the switch is mounted in an open area when rain or snow is in contact with the switch then you must install switch in a damp enclosure with a water proof cover as all exterior switches are required by electrical codes.

As long as your garage does not fall below the operating environment temperature or humidity tolerance of the switch, and your WiFi signal is sufficiently stable in the garage, it should work just fine.
