It does not have a dimming function and yes you can turn it on and off at the physical switch. There is another version of switches which due have a dimming function

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is not a dimmable switch. For that option I would use smart bulbs instead and depending on the number of lights on the switch white bulbs would be cheaper anyways. I use mine to turn my ceiling fan on and off where dimming isn't needed.

To your second question, yes it functions as a standard switch that can be physically pressed to turn the lights on/off but also can turn lights on/off through an app or by voice with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, etc.
