“So my light switch operates an outlet which is how i connected my fan/light. But since i have installed this switch it is not operating the fan/light through the outlet. Will this operate from the switch running to the outlet?”

I assume the switch on the light/fan itself it is the on position then plugged into the outlet. For the Kasa switches to work you need a power wire and common wire at the switch. If you are unsure call an electrician.
