“Will the switch always be powered so even if switched "off" I can control via smart apps?”

• A switch is always powered, that is the only way it can function. So yes it stays powered and connected regardless of the switch position. Be sure to flip the breaker to the circuit before installing unless your curious what 110v feels like.

• The switch will always be powered. When the switch is In the OFF setting you can see a small white light in the shape of a circle telling you that it’s still getting power
