A:AnswerThis is a two way remote, so it blinks whenever you have your car on to let you know the signal was read from your remote to your vehicle. the ds4 looks to be only a 1 way, so if the signal didn’t reach your car, then you may not know until you physically go look. The range on the ds4 looks to be only 1/4 mile. This one can do more than that- It extends the range closer to a mile away. Also this has lock unlock button as well as aux, the aux is if you buy the upgraded alarm kit as well or else it’s just another button. When you get the extra 2 way kit remember to ask him to program it for your set time that the car is on, they can change it from 15-30-45-1 hour of being on they usually set it low if you don’t ask, I like the hour one just incase. So if you get this remote you get the single one way remote, your 2 way remote, and also your original key can sometimes work as a 3rd auto start, just ask him how to do it, mine is “lock, unlock lock, or unlock, lock, unlock” really quick to start it with my original key. I really like the 2 way, this is what I would recommend for the extra hundred or so. Good luck.
A:AnswerThis unit is awesome! I know if you go into a best buy store an associate can add all the needed stuff to make it compatible with your car. I had to buy the wire harness the upgraded fob cause I wanted it to start from a greater distance. The sales associate was knowledgeable about what was needed. Then they set me up an appointment for install. All together it was about $600 for my vehicle.
I hope this helps. It is definitely worth it!!!!
A:AnswerIt will start my car (2016 Nissan Versa), but it cycles. Will not stay running like it should. BUT, we have had a lot of troubles with the remotes since we had system installed.
A:AnswerWe had that problem with one of ours, had to get ahold of Viper on Viper.com and get a new one under warranty, after all it is a lifetime warranty.
A:AnswerIf you already have the remote start system installed in your vehicle, you can install the remote yourself with the instructions that come with it. It took me about 3 tries, but I wasn't giving it my full attention the first time I read the directions.
A:AnswerIt depends on what Viper system you have in your car Viper 7857v will only work with a few systems you will need to find out what you have and then go to Vipers web page
and see if what you have is compatable
A:AnswerI do not know because I have never had your brand of key fob. But I would call the car and audio technician at Best Buy and they can probably tell you immediately
A:AnswerThe one that comes with it will unlock it, but it will not tell you if your car started when you hit the button. The one-way that came with mine died in just under 3 years. This 2-way has better range and will tell you your car started and is running, will lock and unlock, and can open your trunk. It has great range, and is rechargeable. I love mine. I think it was worth the money.
A:AnswerIt comes with fairly simple instructions. It may take a few tries if you don't follow them correctly. I got it on the 3rd try when I realized what I did wrong.
A:AnswerI'd say, yes,it will work with this model car..I don't know if it will affect your warranty,I honestly don't see why it would...
The viper is a very good unit,
But,if you buy the other starter Fob,the one with more range...be very careful with it,they are fragile I dropped mine a few times while it was on my ketchain,Keychain, it broke and I had to pay $100 for another one.
I've had my viper for about five years now and it still works fine...I would say its a very good unit.
