Plug it into a 'USB-C port' on your MacBook Pro. The other end of the USB-C adapter should have at least a couple of USB 3.0 ports. After connecting your device with the USB 3.0 cable it came with, or the one you already have, plug it into the USB 3.0 hubs in the adapter.
