Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it would work great for that. It is pretty large, but it is powered by the USB port so it works great with laptops. I use one like it to move large files between my laptop and a desktop system quite often. You might be better served by a modest USB flash drive since you can get 64GB-128GB USB 3.0 flash drive for less money if that does what you need, but this drive could also provide a place for backups of your systems.

Please try again later.i had this model and get broken after a week. i bought for same reason and luckly i did not erase the original source, otherwise i would have lost everything. the older version of WD where more reliable . i sent my WD faulty back to WD for replacement under warranty and after over a month nothing has been returned, even if was been approved and supposedly already process. other brand looks like more reliable. after over 10 year of loyal customer of WD i moved on other brands
