Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just as any name brand spinner hdd, handle with care. Do not add vibration or drop it while it's spinning plugged in or upon ejecting. Dropping even while it's powered off can potentially damage the head. However, 4tb is over kill to just store pictures unless you have lots of camera raw pictures. Pictures or any data, this hdd should surpass 5-10 years if used lightly just to archive files and not used as a daily project workhorse. Short answer, yes.
