- Answer The EasyStore drive is FAR more likely to fail than the cable included with it. Quite the opposite with the WD My Passport. Easy decision.

QuestionCan i put videos and music on this storage, ive bought it for my ps4 as well, works, but now when i connect the drive to my computer it doesnt show its connected, so i cant transfer videos, why?

- Answer It's a standard USB 3.0 Cable (A-Male to Micro-B). I have this Western Digital drive and two Toshiba drives of varying sizes and they all use the exact same cable.

- Answer Although it will work with either an Xbox One or PS4, they store and encrypt files in different ways. You would need a separate external drive for each.

- Answer Yes you can use it to store one photo, 10 photos, your whole computer, or anything you want. Used same as a flash drive would be used to save. But the speed works great as if it’s stored on your computer.

- Answer I'd choose a different drive if you want to ensure the library won't be lost. I'd sooner consider a My Passport.

QuestionDoes this external hard drive have a special partition of Western Digital bloat ware? I owned a external one in the past and they had a small partition with bloat ware and had no way to get rid of it.

- Answer All WD drives have deletable folders of optional apps. Other drives, with such bootable partitions containing recovery apps, are few in number. This drive can be wiped, but I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding it in comparison to a My Passport (also wipable). The EasyStore is simply not as durable, and more failure-prone.

- Answer Lightscribe is for putting images and labels on disks. That is not applicable for an external Hard Drive.

- Answer It will "work" in that it will record the video data stream but errors may cause video dropout. Security system drives have the bit error detector and repair circuits disabled. This assures the recorded video stream is unbroken, video doesn't care if there are bit errors, one or two dropped bits does not effect the replay but if the video stream gets caught up in a bit error detect and repair cycle that could cause a major dropout. I use WD Purple Surveillance Hard Disk Drives or Seagate SkyHawk Surveillance HDD.

- Answer When you reformat the drive you will loose stored information from the drive. Reformat it first to allow use on both the PC and Mac. Then back up your photos and videos from the HP laptop and transfer to your Mac. Reformat to exFAT file system. It will work on your PC and Mac.

- Answer Yes. It will not be nearly as fast, but it will work just fine. I have mine as the storage for a Tablo TV DVR, and it uses USB 2.0.
