Yes,will work with the PS4. That is exactly what I bought it for and it works great. I formatted as per PS and never had Password issues that I am aware of. Hope this helps

So far it works almost any docs for safe keeping/storage, and no password needed for storage. I don't store games on this as I used it for work purposes only. You could try and if it doesn't work just sent it back to Best Buy. There you have it.

The system will prompt you to format it as extended storage, and afterward you can use the storage manager to move all of your games over. Not really sure what you're meaning about the password, as I never ran across a password.
