No it would not be long enough for book shelf speakers on the top shelf with the tv. It would only be long enough for a 55in tv. Mine is. 50in And fits perfect. However, I believe you could still fit a 55 in tv but not anything else on the top. The second and bottom shelf shelf would hold a DVD player, a cable box and many DVDs. I hope that helps you. You could put the speakers on the second shelf which is glass or the bottom shelf which is wood depending on how high your speakers are.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Here is a photo of mine with my 65 inch diagonal on it. I am guessing it would not fit the speakers with a 55 inch, but I could be wrong. The width is 60 inches, so you should be able to judge. You can fit a ton of DVD's on the side shelves, especially if you stack them deep - you have 12 inches of depth on the shelves. I would guess over 100 per side very conservatively, probably more like 150 to 200 (per side), just from me eyeballing it from my chair (so -- grain of salt).
