QuestionIs the depth really 18”? Seems like depth of most microwaves is 16”. I am concerned it will stick out too far past my cabinets.

- Answer It is a bit tricky at first. You set up all the cooking instruction with the door open (since that's where the touch pad is located), then close the door, and touch the > button on the outside, to turn it on. The fan, light and add 30 seconds are also on the outside. It take a bit of getting use to! All the programming instructions are nicely labeled on the inside of the door. You won't need the manual to look it up!

QuestionThe mounting plate has 2 tabs that protudes above the rest of the mounting plate. Are they to be tight up against the bottom of the cabinet or are they to be bent down into the slots and then the mounting plate be pushed up to the bottom of the cabinet?

QuestionI have a new whirlpool microwave hood combo #WMH31017HB. When I put a cup of tea in to warm it up, the vent fan comes on too and it's extremely loud. My oven or stove top is not being used at the same time. And microwave wasn't used prior. PLZ HELP

- Answer The CFM for this unit reads at 400. I can say that it does move the air surprisingly fast. It also has a four way selection for the fan that also makes it run quietly, depending on the speed selection. The exhaust size for the top of the unit is 10 x 3 1/4 with little wiggle room. I think in the manual reads that its standard size.

- Answer 2 feet. You should have an electric outlet in the cabinet directly above the microwave. Plenty long enough to plug in.

- Answer Many manufacturers offer the option to vent into the room rather than to outside if there is no opportunity to do so. Not ideal but it is an option.

QuestionThe installation diagram shows the distance from the top of the mounting plate to the bottom edge as 17-1/4" yet the microwave outside height is 10-5/16". What is the actual vertical clear wall dimension required for attaching the mounting plate?

- Answer It's definitely not 17-1/4. The docs on the bestbuy site are wrong. The ones on the whirlpool site are correct but don't state the measurement. They do show that mounting plate is <= 10-5/16.

- Answer I will say it’s not as ‘silvery’ as regular stainless- it has a slight warm undertone, but not as warm as the bronze sunset color. The sides of the microwave are regular stainless and it’s slightly noticeable from the side, but only from certain angles. The sides show fingerprints, the front stainless does not (but the touchpad, light/fan buttons and door window certainly show fingerprints).

- Answer You also get a non-stick surface inside the microwave in addition to the 4th speed. the speed alone would sell me. Cleaning a microwave does sell me.
