• Not normal. Ours smells fantastic compared to our last one. I would say use the cleaner pods and check your water hardness..... Hope this helps.

• Make sure you are using an HE detergent and that you use no more than 1-2 tablespoons of liquid or powder. If using the pod do not put it through the dispenser and only use 1.

• YOU HAVE TO USE ENERGY EFFICENT SOAPS. Once you use anything else, you washer is compromised.

• I don't use pods. It is recommended to use high concentration detergent, and I use Method 4x concentrate, Spring Garden. I put it in the dispenser provided. I have had no problem with any smell at all. I also leave the top open to air it out, per instructions, when not in use.
