Yes they will notice movement. Wireless is ok if you amp up sensitivity

Hello there! When the camera detects motion or noise within 30 feet of the camera, it automatically records video and audio. During storms with reported gusts of ~40-50mph and not had any issues… the cam itself is substantial in feel and the magnet is strong. It takes a good pull to get them apart intentional.
