QuestionWhen night vision is on are there lights on? Want cameras to be unnoticeable as much as possible.

- Answer I find the cameras are generally very discrete. Only a dim blue light glows from the rear to indicate they're charged and working. Worst case I suppose you could always cover it with a small piece of electrical tape.

QuestionIn a large garage 20' W x 40' L 20' H, no windows, pitch black, will the night vision video human motions and record noises, sounds? Do cameras have lights on, the thief will notice them? Would v2 outdoor cam wirefree be more effective than v3 wired?

- Answer Hello there! When the camera detects motion or noise within 30 feet of the camera, it automatically records video and audio. During storms with reported gusts of ~40-50mph and not had any issues… the cam itself is substantial in feel and the magnet is strong. It takes a good pull to get them apart intentional. QuestionHow many feet away can the cameras record sounds, noises with videoing human motions day and night. No trees, buildings blocking...open area. The wind can be 10mph-20mph. Sometimes even more. Do not need 24/7. 6-8 cameras.

- Answer Recommendation is that once you pair the camera to the base station and confirm it is working correctly that you take the camera and your mobile device to the spot where you want to monitor it and check operation then.

- Answer Hi there! Wyze Cam detects motion by comparing pixels changing between video frames. "Motion" is recorded when large clusters of pixels change over time. This large cluster can mean a small object moving close to the camera, or a big object moving farther away (like a tree blowing in the wind) within the field view of 130º diagonal. QuestionI use T-Mobile 2.4Ghz hotspot device Franklin T9. I need outdoor wire "free" cameras to record sounds noises, videoing persons when harrassing a disabled senior. BB came, my 2.4ghz flucuates. Can boosters, extenders stabilize connection?

- Answer Hi there, with regards to setting up the Wyze Cam Outdoor v2, it uses a Base Station that requires a wired connection to your router during setup. You will not be able to set up the Base Station without a router. However, if your WiFi extender has an Ethernet port, then yes you can use that to connect to the Base Station. As long as you have that Ethernet port, you'll be able to use the Base Station and proceed with setting up the camera to the Wyze Outdoor Base Station. QuestionHow far away from the base station can the camera be mounted? Also, does the camera run off battery power?

- Answer In terms of determining the furthest distance the camera will connect to the base station, my recommendation is to do what I did: pair the camera while standing next to the station. Confirm it connects and provides live video. With the camera remaining powered on, take it and your mobile device to where you want to mount it. As you view your phone, verify if the camera feed is working as you like. That should give you a good idea as to WiFi reach in your case. As for the camera's power supply: it does run off the battery. Recommend you fully charge your cameras before mounting them. I find mine require recharging around once a month. Wyze also sells plug-in solar panels that will keep the battery charged. Reviews I've seen are good on them and will get those in the near future. Hope this helps.

QuestionWhy can't the videos, sound recordings be stored in the cloud storage more than 14 days? Why would I Pay for a cloud acct when I can't store all my videos(Wyze calls events) for a year or more in one place. Not have some in a cloud, then SD card, usb.
