In terms of determining the furthest distance the camera will connect to the base station, my recommendation is to do what I did: pair the camera while standing next to the station. Confirm it connects and provides live video. With the camera remaining powered on, take it and your mobile device to where you want to mount it. As you view your phone, verify if the camera feed is working as you like. That should give you a good idea as to WiFi reach in your case. As for the camera's power supply: it does run off the battery. Recommend you fully charge your cameras before mounting them. I find mine require recharging around once a month. Wyze also sells plug-in solar panels that will keep the battery charged. Reviews I've seen are good on them and will get those in the near future. Hope this helps.
