QuestionI've hooked up all the connections and get surround from my DVD (which originally was hooked directly into the 4K TV) but found it would not generate sound so had to do a direct connection to the receiver. TV/Cable is not getting surround sound, why?

- Answer Make sure the input from the TV to the receiver is set for surround. Each input on the receiver can be set differently.

QuestionThis receiver keeps powering down on me?? I have 3 speakers hooked up. All 3 are sony open box from best buy. 2 floor standing 3 way core series dual 5" model sscs3 and one center channel 4" 2 way model sscs8. New 16 awg wire correctly hooked up.

- Answer Mine has done the same thing twice. You may have wired correctly but check that the wire is not shorted.

QuestionI'll like to installed it on my outside bar. I live in Miami, its humidity an issue? Use to have a Yamaha RV V383 it only lasted 5 years. Its that normal live for a device outside , i mean by that in my terrace

- Answer The quality of Yamaha has changed a bit..remember back in the days material and components were more resistant. Think Humidity won't be an issue as long as the opening are not cover up so hot air can go out. Just protect it by the rain.

- Answer Plug tv source hdmi cable into hdmi 2 on yamaha. Plug hdmi cable from yamaha hdmi output to your TV hdmi ARC input. Your television has settings to turn on the ARC feature.
