• That is correct. You need the Wi-Fi so that the camera can share what it is seeing in real time to your smartphone. Otherwise, you need to connect it to the internet for sharing purposes. The app (MeShare) allows you to record any fragment of time into the SD card. I'm not sure what happens when it gets full. It might overwrite the past recordings, but I'm not sure.
