    In the past, I could walk in and make use of the "Geek Squad Protection". Lately, this has been nothing but a major PITA. And when it's time for the local store to actually *do* something, 9 times out of 10 they tell you to call the 1800 number. Shoot, if I wanted remote support, I could buy from Amazon. The entire point of me paying for geek squad is for local people support. What I've noticed while standing in line: - customers shocked the product isn't going to be replaced, it's going to be repaired. Begin stare down. - customers receiving swaps from the floor that don't match what they bought. - wait times have gotten so long, you better have an appointment The poor service has reached the point where I doubt I'll buy GSP for anything ever again. I'm balancing risk vs. hassle. I'd rather take the risk.

    Could Not Transfer!

    I brought this protection for the Blu phone. Could not stand the phone so I went back and brought a different phone. Could not trade in the Blu phone and could not transfer protection plan or get a refund.

      Geek Squad Protection on mobile devices is intended for the device it is purchase for. While exceptions can be made in some scenarios, it will be at the discretion of store leadership and how long you've owned the phone.

    Bought a two years protection plan for a phone. After a year my phone overheat and geeksquad told me they don't fix LG phone and LG company Will replaced my phone but I have to pay $80 and $100 for the geek plan. So it cost me $180 to get my phone + interest on credit card. Current phone price $200... Yes, I might have save $10 but I would have rather just buy a new phone myself and avoid the headache of dealing with Geek Squad and making me believe they take care of everything if something breaks. Big lie. Not worth get a plan for a phone.

    I purchased this with a phone and when I dropped the phone and called service to replace it they were requesting half the price for the phone for replacement. What's the point of of buying protection if i have to pay again due to failure.

    Both times that I have taken my phone in, they have not been able to help me. It seems the money spent on this protection plan is only to replace the phone and I have to do all the work. Not sure I would buy a protection plan for a phone from Best Buy again.

    Geek squad doesn’t cover anything. Paid 125 and they give me excuses. Called 1800 number and was told it’s covered. If they can’t fix it they have to replace. Back at the store with stupid agents. Stupid is being nice. I have more words but I’m done. Don’t waste your money. I didn’t want to use a star

      I'm certainly disappointed to hear that your coverage wasn't everything you were looking for and I'm wanting to see if you're able to get a second diagnosis by returning to another store, or by calling us over the phone at 1-800-GEEKSQUAD. Although I cannot promise a different outcome, I do want you to have a second diagnosis if you're not in agreement with the initial diagnosis.

    Salesman told me that the protection was for one year and if anything was to happen to phone I would get a new one at the store all lies they want 200 service fee I will not shop at best buy any longer Amazon from now no out

    Better with Nothing

    Plan was 200+ for 725+ phone. Service fee to fix phone is additional 150+ (the + is taxes). However the cost of a new phone at time of repair (one year later) is 450. 350+ to get phone fixed/replaced or 450+ for same phone new. So plan saves me 100 on out-dated phone.

    Warranty is not worth buying.

    Samsung Galaxy S7 Paid $150 for warranty and $150 deductible to replace a phone and receive a replacement phone with a battery that does not hold charge. Warranty is not worth buying.

    took my moto phone in to store only to be told that i would have to PAY to have it fully checked? whats the purpose of buying Geek Squad protection if the Geeks in the store cant help you

    The new changes in geek squad for cell phones, especially prepaid cell phones, is unacceptable. The return should be as before unlimited. Especially since the phone has to be paid outright. The no return after 14 days is outrageous.
