TL;DR: We bought a service plan on a brand new 55" TV which has been broken/non-functional since approximately 90 days of ownership. Two months later and Geek Squad has failed to repair or replace the set. I would honestly stay away from both this set and Best Buy service plans. You're not getting your money's worth. We bought this TV after our order from Amazon was delivered with a smashed screen. We went with Best Buy as we've had good experiences with them previously, plus I wanted to go ahead and purchase from a local retailer. I picked it up on the day I ordered it online which was nice. Unfortunately the TV worked for about a month and a half, after using it not more than a couple times a week. I purchased the Geek Squad service plan immediately. It took them two weeks to even come look at the set, and even then they didn't show up in person. They called me and diagnosed over the phone. Their diagnosis based on the flashing codes was a bad controller board. They had the board delivered to our house. It then took them 3 weeks to come to our house to replace the part. The agent was nice, but after replacing the board the TV was still broken. Because had to "follow Sony's guidance" he was forced to just go down the line replacing PCB boards in the set until the issue was fixed. He ordered another set of boards and left without scheduling anything, promising a call later that week. The call never came, but the parts did. He showed up unexpectedtly last week on Monday to replace the parts (we are now two months into this saga). Surprise surprise, the parts didn't fix the TV either. Unfortunately "Sony has to make the determination whether we continue by replacing the panel or replacing the whole TV." It's now been over a week and I've received no phone call, no email, no indication whatsoever that Best Buy intends to actually fix this and make good on their service plan.

I think it was a great plan for a great price. Gave me piece of mind!

Good to know if something goes wrong with my television i can depend on the geek sqaud for added protection.

Happy to be able to get this 5 year protection plan on my new TV.

It is just a little extra protection for an ever changing electronic world.

Always good to have just in case you never know what could hapoen

This is an insurance for peace of mind hopefully you don't use it

Usually don't purchase protection but decided that for the low price of the tv, I might as well protected just in case...

i havent had to use geek squad yet luckily but it feels good to know i can use them if i need them, great plan and price.

Good price for the 2 year warranty, no complaints here

but bought it just in case. It was inexpensive and covers lots of issues.

Always purchase protection and I happy I do if something happens it fixed or replaced

Friendly faces always willing to do their best to fix your problems.

Its nice to have piece of mind that your tv is protected.
