Many also highlight the strong signal strength and relatively easy setup process, resulting in great coverage. However, some customers find the price to be a bit high. A few also mention that the size could be smaller and that more Ethernet ports would be beneficial.

I needed a new wireless base station for all the iPads, iPhones, Computers and Netflix in our home. The airport extreme has solved my connectivity issues when running these devices simultaneously. It also reaches remote rooms with better reliability. The setup took less than a minute proving again to me that Apple products are the best.

This AirPort Extreme replaces the wifi router portion of a current gen XFINITY AC all in one cable modem, phone modem, wifi router. I run 8-10 wifi connected devices. Wifi service was poor to my 4th gen Apple TV as well as to some of my other devices. Connecting the AP was simple. Set up was even easier and all my wifi connections are much faster. It has worked and is working flawlously.

As usual with all Apple products, they may cost a little more but they are worth every penny. The Airport Extreme Base Station is the best router I have ever purchased.

Routers have always been a pain for me. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Setup is always an issue and cumbersome. I was expecting the Airport Extreme to be the same. WRONG! It is perfect! I had it up and running in under 5 minutes. Everything connected without issue. We've had it about a month with zero issues and zero downtime. I love the guest network feature, too. Fantastic!

Voila!!Ready to watch my favorite movies in any room of the house. It is a great value for the money. Specially recommended, of course, to increase your ever growing Apple ecosystem!!!

After a misleading sales pitch from a BestBuy sales person (which has now altered my opinion of BestBuy), I decided to give Apple a try and replaced my dead Cisco home router with this one. Pros: o If your devices are mostly older generation devices that connect to "N" and "G" wireless networks, then this is one of the fastest routers you can get (according to professional publication reviews). o Setting up the router was much simpler than any router I've previously owned. o Like other home routers, this router needs rebooting occasionally, but so far it seems more dependable than the Linksys, Cisco and Netgear routers we've used in the past. o We have a fairly large house (7,000 square feet), and the signal is usually strong enough to cover pretty much all of it. Cons: o The administration interface is not web based. You must download an app to administer the router from an iPad or iPhone, and use the "AirPort Utility" on your Mac to tweak the router. If all your devices are Apple, that's not a big deal. However, if you have Macs, PCs and Android devices... it can be a pain. o Apple, the famous innovator, the inventor of the smart phone and the modern tablet, the pusher of Thunderbolt, the early adopter of USB 3.0... put a USB 2.0 port on their brand new router, which definitely limits what I can do with an attached hard disk. o According to technical publication reviews, while this router is very fast for legacy devices, it is just ho hum for the newer devices using 802.11AC for wireless networking. o If you have children whose devices you want off the network at a certain time each night, be prepared for a startlingly tedious access control process that lags behind where other routers were even 10 years ago. Overall I am happy with the router, but I'd be a lot happier if it had what I was told it had when I bought it, namely a 2 terabyte internal hard drive, especially since it only has a USB 2.0 port.

I had the old version of router from apple, did not run into any problems installing the Airport Express. It was recognized by the rest of the systems in seconds.

The unit is vastly superior to the previous model with regard to coverage area. The download speed on the furthest computer is twice the old unit and the signal has to pass though 5 walls. I can see that this single unit could handle a large home without repeaters. My only complaint was the set up. The instructions are not great for when you are replacing an existing AirPort Extreme. I definitely recommend this product.

The new Apple Airport Extreme delivers on the promise of faster wi-fi speeds for 2013 and later MacBook Pro users or other computers/devices that support 802.11ac. This router tests at 2/3 wired gigabit ethernet speeds. Excellent for the power user that needs greater wi-fi bandwidth. Very easy to set up. Does not support SNMP as previous generations of Apple's routers, so if you need that functionality look elsewhere.

I love the ease and simplicity of this router and how powerful it is. It increased my wifi range 10 fold over the AirPort Express. Only have 4 stars because of its lack of control over advanced functions; I'm a Cisco Network guy and would like some increased options for me to mess with for my networks.
