Basically, this is my first Apple product that I have purchased. Extremely easy set-up with my non-apple 4-1/2 year old laptop using Windows 7 OS. I chose this product because I did not see the need to upgrade to the Wi-Fi device that would also allow me to back-up the hard drive or store files.

I finally got rid of my old router and purchased an Airport Extreme base station. I loved the flexibility it gave me to set up multiple networks. Connections were easy to make with my existing equipment and it has proved to be very reliable. I now have multiple networks, one to run my home entertainment equipment and the other to work with the internet.

Very happy with my purchase of an Airport Extreme. It has been a workhorse for our house of countless wifi devices and it handled them without issue. Setup correctly, you can test for more speed than you pay for. For example, we pay for 250mb internet and this Airport Extreme would test me around 270mb. Fully recommended!

For Christmas all the kids were over! For five straight days we had over 35 devices working flawlessly all the time!

As with most things that Apple makes, their router is top notch. It works perfectly as a router and has 4 ethernet ports on the back of the router to facilitate direct wired connection to your other devices. This router is incredibly easy to set up. It isn't plug and play but its certainly almost that easy. This is my second Apple router and I couldn't be happier.

great customer support at best buy and apple support for installation. have to use with modem only- does not work well with comcast gateway that has wifi in it- the 2 routers compete and you cannot turn off the wifi on the comcast gateway(like comcast says). I get all the range promised and the availablity of boosters to increas the range is great also. everything the folks at best buy promised.

I keep Apple products on this & all others on my other wireless router. Setup required a hard line plug in. After that, I can make changes wirelessly.

I've had several earlier model Airport Extremes but this is my favorite, if for no other reason the footprint. There are several technological advances.
