I helped a family I'm friends with find a new router. The fame is the parents and two young boys with several internet connected devices. The previous router wasn't cutting it from floor to floor. The airport express manages floor signaling very well! The reviews live to the hype and give your home great wifi reliability. Now it's time to get myself one! Keep in mind if you're moving from a much older router to a new one you'll see improved performance, but only to the extent of your internet provider (I'm looking at you Verizon dsl)

I have used many linksys/cisco and netgear routers in the past with many issues. For the last several years, I've been using Apple Airports without issue. I upgraded from a 5th generation AirPort to this wireless AC model. There is a noticeable difference in how quick pages load (snappiness) and in stability of the connection while using Apple products with wireless AC (retina iMac, 2015 MacBook, iPhone 6, MacBook Pro). Overall, it was worth the money. It was a solid upgrade with noticeable improvements in speed from the 5th generation AirPort. It's been plugged in and once its been set up, its never been restarted or anything. It just works day after day wirelessly at very near the same speed that you're getting from your internet provider. It makes a wireless internet connection (over AC) feel almost exactly like a gigabit wired connection.

I have the older AirPort Extreme, noticed my wifi wasn't as fast, so I bought this one and oh my gosh! My internet is smoking fast! Amazing, and astonished by how Apple products are just simply the best! Not only that. It I called apple and they help me set it up step by step, wonderful amazing have to buy this product if you really want fast net, now I can watch Netflix on my tv while using my computer multitasking with multiple pages open, also online gaming and downloading is faster! I had both my sisters purchase this AirPort Extreme.

Very reliable unit. Good range. Lasts a long time. Just works when paired with other Apple devices.

Like most Apple products, it just works! The AirPort Extreme is easy to set up. The speed is very fast and supports all my network components.

I have to deal with computers and software customizing for a living. I know what it takes to configure a new device. Setting up my Apple - AirPort Extreme Wireless Base Station was very intuitive and easy. I do have another wireless network at home but for some reason all my devices naturally connect to my Apple - Airport. It is located on the 2nd floor and it's signal easily reaches the basement. I'm happy with my purchase.

The Apple router is definitely more expensive than other 802.11ac routers, but works very well with Apple devices. Be warned there is no web interface for configuring/managing it, you MUST use the Apple supplied "Airport App". (available for iOS, MacOS, and Windows)

I don't usually contribute to product reviews, but use them all the time. I know I know, I'm guilty and will do better. So, after owning the "Airport" and using it daily for over a year and a half, I have to say that it is very dependable. So dependable, that I really don't have many words beyond it just works. I bought it when I became a "cord-cutter". Just to provide a scalar reference, our entire three-level 4800 s.f. home functions well with it, with it being placed on the top floor. We (family of five) stream movies in our basement, play videos on Kidtube from my kid's Nabis, surf the net with our computers and phones, watch Playstation Vue and Netflix from Firesticks and Rokkus all with no hiccups. We have 8 tvs throughout the house with either a Firestick or Rokku connected and everything streams well. Again, I say all this just to provide scale. Needless to say, I am satisfied with the product.

We purchased the AirPort Extreme when our Time Capsule A1409 failed due to power surge. After learning that the TC could not be repaired, I decided to separate the external hard drive from the base station and the AirPort Extreme serves this purpose. I pulled the hard drive out of the A1409 and put it in an external encasement then plugged it into the AirPort Extreme and now have access to all the files previously on the TC. The set up was easy and the AirPort Extreme found and recognized the TC without any difficulty. Great range in the house.

Excellent range and speed. Far better then the wireless included with my ISP. Like all things Apple, it just works with very little setup.

As always, great product from Apple. Love the tower design and the additional antennas over the previous version. Greater wireless range.

I've had previous versions of the AirPort before, and they've all been good. This one was no different. Pretty much plug and play, and works great with both my Macs and PC's alike. I did prefer the form factor of the previous model, however. This one is much taller, so I've had to relocate it slightly from where it was. Not sure if this was a design choice or a technical one (maybe the new antennas needed extra room or something). In any case, whether you're new to the AirPort, or a old hat, this is defintely a good choice.

Changed all of my PCs over to apples a few years ago and never looked back.The airport extreme was easy to set up and it worked flawlessly.

Apple quality and performance. You get a performance bump with AC and you free up legacy bands to serve your old equipment better !

I was having trouble with my numerous apple products connecting to my home network (I did have an older WIFI router) After reviewing and looking at the numerous router options available and reading the reviews it was clear that the Apple Airport Extreme was going to be the better option. The set up was easy to complete, and i haven't had an issue with connectivity since. The other great thing about having Apple products with other apple products is that I can control and or change router options all on my iPhone or iPad.

Very easy to set up. Creates a very powerful signal across the house (1 story 2500 sq ft). Even looks cool sitting in the media closet.

This thing is awesome. My 14 year old son had it out of the box and up in running in no time. It is powerful too. Well worth the cost.

I've had a lot of different routers, but this one is great. Real simple to set up. The range is unbelievable. I am really impressed.
