Did not perform as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We tried the product as recommended by personnel in the Geek Squad at the store. Unfortunately, the product did not perform as expected or informed by the Geek Squad in the store. In order for this device to be set up one must own another apple product, such us an IPOD, IPAD or apple computer. Otherwise it will not work. Range did not reach to the other part of the house and the connection kept cutting out.

Could Never get it to work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite purchasing, returning for another one, and purchasing it agina, I could not get the airport to work. After hours of frustration I finally returned the product and purchased a competitor product. In the case of this product, Apples "easy setup" became a nightmare, because it failed multiple times to successfully setup....a real disappointment for me.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The installation is as easy as plugging in the power cord. There was immediate discernible improvement of speed and range. I no longer need extenders for signals to reach the farthest bedrooms in a large house. My old Netgear router would frequently disconnect from the Internet. Since I installed AirPort Extreme, I have never been disconnected from the web. This is a hidden gem that Apple should spend some serious advertising dollar on - I almost decided to buy another dual-band router before I tumbled upon this wonderful product.

Simple and it works great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took me less than 5 minutes to set up and that included taking it out of the box. I used my phone to set up the network and couldn't have been easier. To test it out I streamed video on the Apple TV and Roku along with an Xbox one all at the same time on different floors and rooms and not one buffer all ran smooth as could be.

works well but expensive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy set up works well, but for the price it really could use another Cat 5 port

Dont Be Stupid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my book, bells and whistles that products offer are always good, but the bottom line is; Does it work, and does it work consistently? Let me say I am an IT engineer and know how to configure all the routers out there, and each has the ability to configure more/less than the other. HOWEVER there is always some glitch or upgrade that messes up the network periodically. SO, I heard so many great things about this apple router, and hands down it works, and works consistently. It is super easy to setup, even if you are not experienced, and it has a few toys that I like in case I want to manually configure it. I liked it so much, I purchased another, and recommended to all my friends. The throughput is very good, even up against those giant crab looking routers (lol). This is the one to buy folks, it does what you need and that is to consistently work.

Wouldn’t create a network
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m honestly extremely disappointed in this product. It wouldn’t allow me to create a WiFi network. I tried every fix apple suggested on their website, but to no avail. I returned it. I’m a self proclaimed apple fanboy. But, this product was a dud.

Stop Looking and Get this Router!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a long time PC Man with a daughter who owns lots of Apple Products (of course, I bought them all...lol). My 2 year old router was not performing well as of late, especially during Christmas with a full house. It was not handling all the traffic in the house (2 iPads, 3 iPhones, 3 PC Desktops, 1PC laptop and 2 Apple Laptops (both 8011ac), 3 peripheral devices hooked up to Hula or Netflix throughout the house. The router was a name brand device and I still remember the hassle of getting it started and was wary of doing it again. I just wasn't looking forward to this change. When everyone got on, it really the system bogged down. Also the signal strength for some of items farthest from the router were weak at 2 to 3 bars (2 story 3500 sq ft home#. My daughter recommend this device and of course being a PC guy I wasn't sure. I bought it and it took me less than 15 minutes to hookup all the devices to it. The utility App from Apple for device made it simple and easy to do. Dare I say Plug and Play? You bet! I kept the same SSID and password, but still had to retype the password in for each item after it found the SSID ID. I have both a primary and guest network. SIMPLE!!! Now I have 5 bars at the farthest point in house and everyone running at 25 to 30 Mps Download and 4 to 6 Upload. My neighbor across the street commented to me he gets my network at 4 bars now! I have Comcast Blast with a Docsis 3.0 Modem. Everyone is happy now in the house and no complaints about low bars and slow download speeds. We are able to watch Netflix and Hula on two different devices and have others on iPads looking at You Tube without any problems. Stop looking around and get this Router. It is the best and well worth it. This is coming from a PC guy!

Easy setup, easy maintenance (with iPhone), great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A classy looking wireless router that has hassle free setup especially if you already own Apple products. There's a free AirPort Utility App on iPhone that let's you check the status of the router and for software updates. The router supports extremely fast internet speeds(much faster than the 25-50Mbps that most people get from Comcast, but if you pay for extra speeds in excess of 100Mbps this router can handle it). The router also pushes the signal all throughout our house so we can video chat even outside and in our rooms. Our previous router didn't have that kind of range. I've had this router just over a year, and haven't had a single maintenance issue with it. It's little pricier, but especially worth it if you have Apple products and still works great if you don't. One note is that it may not have as many bells and whistles as some non-apple routers. Maybe, but not 100% sure.

High Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the BEST router I've ever owned! Before I purchased this router, I had a Belkin N600 which was terrible if you wanted to download games using Steam and streaming Netflix at the same time. I was initially turned off by the cost of this router so I went with the Belkin AC1200, but I still had the same exact problem. A day later I exchanged that router for the Airport Extreme and I've just been blown away by the performance and ease of use. Installing/set-up took all but two minutes and when I ran a test, I streamed my favorite show "Bob's Burgers," and downloaded a game from my Steam Library. The stream maintained full HD without any hiccups or buffering, and I was still able to download a 5 GB game within 15 minutes using the AC feature on my MacBook Air. FYI: If you want to take advantage of the wireless AC feature, make sure you have a wireless AC compatible laptop, Smartphone, tablet, or desktop.

I always trust Apple products but this one let me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Apple Extreme products before but this one kept dropping connections and many times wouldn't even connect to the internet. I tried rebooting and everything but no luck. So I had to return it.

Great Wifi Router and Extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've purchased my base station a week ago, and finally it arrived last night. I was extremely happy to get my paws on it, and after reading all of the reviews below, I knew exactly how this package needs to be open. ***For those that havent seen any reviews, once you will take off the outer plastic cover, make sure to put the box on a table, and lift the top part off, that way nothing will fell down on your feet, furniture of floor of the room, breaking everything or anything on its way down*** Once the you've got it open, hopefully without damaging anything, you can begin your setup. My advice is to power down your modem from ISP, while you are unwrapping Aiport Extreme Station. When all of the wires are connected to the station, power up your modem and then the station. Fire up Airport Utility from your Mac, Windows or iOS, and start messing with settings. When your station is found by Airport Utility, you can select it and click on Edit, go through screens and different option, everything is self-explanatory. For those that like to hide their networks, there is an option to make hidden network. There is also an option for IPV6 which is enabled by default, but if you wont need it, you can disable it. Anyhoo, setup was a breeze and my network was up and running in less than 3 minutes, that is including updating firmware to 7.7.1 on Extreme Station, limitation of IP addresses in DHCP option and reassigning from 10.0 starting address to 192.168 for a private addresses on my LAN. I'm still in my honeymoon stage with this product. This is my first Airport product, as I've been using linksys (used to work there) and then switched to Netgear...I've got to say, this router is the most impressive one yet

Terrible Speed Connections
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought this new router would create an extremely faster connection, boy was I wrong! Unless sitting literally right next to the router, speeds averaged approximately 25mbps. Terrible!! Don't waste your money!
