this product carries the Apple brand name and should hold up to its standards of the best in the market and along with that comes the price tag. For a router to be over $200 it needs to perform like that and mine has not.

I purchased this product to upgrade my Apple Airport Extreme 5th Generation. I've had that model for approximately 4 years and had no problems with that product at all. I bought this unit mainly for the wireless AC capabilities as well as the new beam forming antenna. If you are using apple products especially, this product is very easy to set up and works great. To put my old airport extreme to use, I set it up as a network extender to work hand and hand with this router, which so far is working to my satisfaction although I have read that you will lose some speed while doing this. I highly recommend this product.

My printer kept dropping of wifi. Returned it and got another Apple airport and the same thing happened. Plus kept getting kicked out when on netflix. Returned the second one and bought another product.

Before you purchase, know that this will not (at least it will not easily) repeat a wifi signal unless the original wifi signal is from an apple product. I returned this product 1 day after purchase.

Our sales rep indicated this product would work with anything and would be super easy to set-up and maintain. None of which turned out to be true. We ended up returning it for a different brand.

Installed it and it didn't work correctly. Geek Squad came and tried. Still didn't work. Apple products seem to only want to work with other apple products.

Don’t waste your money these are being phased out by Apple and they are pretty obsolete compared to mesh wifi setups.

This is a REFURBISHED Apple Extreme Base Station. The fan made so much noise it was unusable. I returned it to a Best Buy store located near by.

Had to bring it back. I had about a 5 year old or so Apple Time Machine. I wanted to replace it with this Extreme. I couldn't get it to work. Had to bring it back.

Please do not buy this Apple router if you have COX as your internet provider. They will not work together. It is now a known problem without solution.

I've had several other routers (various brands) in the past and was looking for something better. I was hesitant at first because of the cost, but after so many great reviews I decided to give it a shot. The setup was extremely easy and I've got a good signal throughout the house. The speed is great and no lag or buffering so far when watching YouTube in HD. This is the best router I've had thus far.

Don't rely on the salesperson. Airport does not work with a PC (purchased early 2012). If you have PC set up stick with equivalent Netgear router.

I've dealt with plenty of wifi routers and Apple always comes out on top for ease of use and reliability. However, they also charge a premium.

I had wanted to upgrade our wireless router for a while but held off as I couldn't see much benefit from going to the latest Airport Extreme from the previous model. Lately I found that we had some very weak spots around the house and so decided to get another Airport and wire them together for a roaming, bridged setup. This was a simple setup and works great but what was really amazing was the wireless speeds our Apple devices were getting, compared to the old setup. The 802.11ac connection is very fast and we are really noticing a difference with downloads and just connecting in general. I can't think of any negatives with this router. If you had the previous model, it's even simpler to configure the new one (I switched from one to another within about 10 minutes) and even a new setup shouldn't be too difficult. I would wholeheartedly recommend this router - it's very fast, simple to configure and very reliable.

This lost connectivity with our modem constantly. Apple doesn’t even make these anymore. Junk

Works well could not steam in theater room in cellar with previous non mac router I can now with Airport Extreme

If you looking for a fast set up, easy process without even using the instructions and on top of that a great router?? Then get this. My internet was of average speeds but i wanted to get more out of my internet as a lot of people are connected to the wifi in my house. After i got this the speeds dramatically increased! no one is lagging anymore when everyone is on wifi and we are all getting strong wifi!

I replaced my Belkin N700 with this router and could instantly see the difference. Only Fiberoptic 30MBPS line, with Belkin, I would see max bandwidth of 20MB download and 12 MB upload but this router goes to teh extreme to get me all 30 MBPS download and 15 MBPS upload. Being a Windows user, it was a little challenging at first to setup the router. I have iOS devices but did not realize that I had to connect the device to set it with my Modem. But once I connected, it was all straight forward. Also, I missed my DHCP Client list available in the Web Interface for Belkin. Airport does not have a Web Interface and the App did not give me IP Addresses used. Instead it gives Machine Numbers. But downloaded Fling IP Snooper App and I am all set with that. Got to love the performance of this router. It did increase the range, but I still need an extender as before. Planning to replace my Belkin Extender with the Airport Express.

Upgraded my internet speed to 100 Mbgs from 40 Mbgs (Cox Cable) and was using the Apple AirPort Express at the time. It was a great router but didn't do my increased speeds justice. Upgraded to the Apple AirPort Extreme and the difference was like night and day.....now talking smoking download speeds over 116 Mbgs on my iMac....
