I have used Airport Extremes for several years in my home. I have a media closet where all my electronics and input/outputs reside. Because it is in one end of my home wireless signals have to travel some 300 feet to reach the opposite end and signal strength has always been an issue for media players (e.g. Apple TV). After installing the new Airport extreme the signal strength has climbed considerably throughout my home. Where my wife's iPad was registering one to two bars in the Master Bath and Bedroom it now is three bars. While the price has increased from 179 to 199 the extra cost is more than justified for the improved performance. I also like the fact that the light is now the same size as the new airport express which is considerably smaller than the previous generation airport extreme. I still have two additional airport extreme routers working as extenders but I am considering removing them and using one additional new airport extreme as a single extender. .

Wow! Wifi is fixed! I was having lots of trouble and tried a lot of things to fix my issues. But this was the magic bullet to success. My internet speed more than tripled! Once again, Apple delivers a winning product. Way to go!

I have been using Apple Airport routers from the beginning of the product line. Up until a couple of days ago I was using an Airport Express and it works great, but with the number of connected devices in my home 25 total it was getting a little sluggish, this upgrade got everything up to perfect performance again, the speed is great the built in hub is just the right size for the 3 hardwired devices in my home.

We were using an older airport and splurged on this one, really made the connection a lot stronger. Works around the corner and down the hall better than the airport.

The Apple Airport Extreme is proobably the best router anyone can buy. For the everyday user, routers can be very hard to set up. The airport extreme makes it so easy that you can even set it up on your iOS device (iPhone or iPad). Personally I set it up with my MacBook, but the airport utility makes it a piece of cake. It has 6 antennas around the inside of it so range is fantastic. In the need of extending the network, you can easily set up the airport expresses to repeat the signal. Thank you Apple!

I was skeptical of the Apple claims for signal strength ... but after installation I had a strong signal for streaming throughout my 3,500 sq ft house.

Fantastic base station. Works well with all PC's, Mac's and mobile devices. Great Range inside and outside my house. Would highly recommend. Love the USB plug for adding printer or hard drive to my network.

This router has fixed a decade-long problem for me. For the longest time, I relied on cheap Linksys, D-Link, & Belkin routers because everyone told me a cheap router is the same as an expensive one. However, I always had connectivity issues, particularly with online gaming which severely limited my connection with friends and family. Purchasing the Airport Extreme was a great idea, as it significantly improved my performance by more than 2X! Our house currently runs an Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii U, Playstation 4, Xbox One, 2 Macbook Pro's, 2 iPads, 3 iPhones, and 1 Work VPN. Everything runs flawlessly and the set-up time was such a breeze, taking mere minutes. This is a great product and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to optimize their internet connection to get it. Say goodbye to spending weekends tweeking router settings and opening up ports--this is the router for you.

I needed a dual band router so that while I was on my PS4, my wife could still use Netflix or her phone. Our router setup is in the basement and before, our old router couldn't reach 2 floors up. The Airport Extreme router not only gives me a full signal 2 floors up...it works from LITERALLY a block away from the house. I've tried it. And yes, the router is still in the poured concrete basement. As a bit of a nerd/computer power-user, I was hesitant to try the Apple router. I more associate Apple with end-user consumer devices, but I've been blown away with the Airport Extreme. I won't recommend any other wifi router after using this. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This apple router is the best router I have ever owned. Once I set it up almost a year ago, I have never had to reset it, or mess with it in any way. The range is phenomenal, I can stream video or download at great speed outside the home from several houses down the road. I use this router with an arris modem, and I have time warner cable for internet service. Its nice to have a product that works 100% of the time.

Easy to set up and far better range than the linksys e3000 it replaced. Only hiccup to be aware of is the guest network requires a setting change to use NAT as oppose to Bridge which is the default setting. I have not used the AC frequency yet, however the key driver for me was to get a single router that had better range and this fit the bill. From a cost perspective it is in the same arena as other AC devices.

I purchased this Airport Extreme after during research on the Internet. The price made me think about it and would it solve the terrible performance of my ATT Uverse wireless router. I was getting about 4-8 Mbps with my ATT router after a speed up grade. Also my ATT wireless dropped a lot. I got over 22 Mbps from AirPort Extreme out of the box. I am not sure that it best setup but for now it beats what I was getting. I disabled the ATT wireless. I am able to do 3D wireless on Netflix . I could not do that before. I glad that I made the decision to buy the AE.

I love Apple. My phone, tablet and laptop are all Apple. Apple products are easy to set up and use, are durable, and last for a long time without problems. My Apple Time Capsule died and my first choice was to go with the AirPort Extreme. I read the mixed reviews and was supprised the number of bad reviews, however, I decided to try it anyway based on my experience with other Apple products. Brought it home, easily set it up and it worked great. Two days later it died. I should have listened to the reviews. Returned it to Best Buy and got a Nextgear router instead. Read the reviews and decide for yourself.

I was long over due for a new router and although tech savy i never thought it was my router that was the issue until a buddy told me about the airport extreme and how it made his download speed increase alot. Before i hooked up this new guy i did a speed test on my macbook pro (2010) and my ipad mini. Both were around 13-15 mbps. Granted i was using a dynex 802.11g router. This airport is first class. Hooked up in a few minutes. Checked the speed again.. Over 50mbps!!! A noticable difference for sure and makes spending 200$ for this seem worth it! And plus im set for wireless AC for any new apple products i pickup in the future

This is by far the best router I've ever owned in the many years going back to when wireless internet or WiFI as we know it was a thing. I have many apple products in my house and I also have an airport express to engender my wireless network so that my whole property inside and out are covered. I've never been more amazed with the range of a router than I am with the new AirPort Extreme. I use the 5 ghz when I'm at closer ranges for extremely fast downloads but even the 2.4 is extremely efficient. If you have apple products and are needing to setup a great wireless network at your home or workplace. Look no further than the AirPort Extreme. You can connect multiple extremes together or add a couple expresses to extend your range dramatically without much loss in download speeds. Apple junkies. This router(s) is for you. Air print is also a great feature to be able to print anything wirelessly on any device. with you printer setup on the same network. Even people without apple products that are looking for a good setup can use this router without any limitations except airplay. You can also use

It has been only 5 hours since installing and our whole family is "Extreme"ly happy! We upgraded from a wireless-G 10 year old Linksys router. The response time for our laptops (HP and Dell), iThings (iPhone 5s, iPad Mini 2, iPad 1st Gen), wireless printer (HP), and 2 Rokus are working better than ever. I did lots of research and am very please with the decision to purchase this device.

Really enjoy this router so far. Was setup out of the box in 5 minutes and all you have to do is set the WiFi password.

Made my internet wifi faster based on speedtest.net. Went from 38 to 59 Mbps.
