Purchased this unit to replace a D-Link DAP-1522 which we were having constant problems with. We are a small software development company focused on mobile devices, both Apple and Android phones and tablets. We were having to unplug the D-Link multiple times per day to keep everyone connected. All of our problems went away as soon as we swapped it for the Apple Airport Extreme. Although this is more expensive than other options it was worth every penny in our case. The Airport configuration manager makes the setup quick and easy, and it is available for both MAC and PC. We were unboxed and running within five minutes.

It you use Apple computers this is great router. I had it for a while and no issues. Works great with good performance. The only negative would if you do not use Apple products you might want to stay way form this router.

I’ll have to agree with the 5 star reviews here. Setup is super easy, excellent throughput...my son said his game downloads and updates are loading up much faster with the new router. Signal strength all over the house is great, and streaming video is like Cable tv.

If you have even one Apple product- iPhone, iPad,or a Mac -- this is for you. I had zero problems setting up my new WiFi network which is considerably faster and more reliable than my cable company's equipment provided. Apple's free Airport app did all the work. Never has anything been so easy! Dump your cable company's combo modem/router and get yourself one of these- awesome to look at and an excellent, care-free product.

For what ever reason I have a heck of a time with routers. Most of the routers that I have owned required a power cycle after a week or two. I bit the bullet and bought the expensive apple router and haven't had a single issue. I'm away from home quite often and want the check in on the security system, with the other routers failing I was left in the dark, with the apple router I'm always aware of what is going on at home. Thanks apple!

This is a huge upgrade from anything we had had in the past! Great for a home business!

We have had excellent results using the Apple - AirPort Extreme Wireless Base Station and extenders. My kids are happy that they can get wifi access all over the house including the basement!

Plug it in and in less than 5 minutes you are finished. Typical Apple product.

I bought this to replace a cisco router, it reaches through my whole house.

I needed to replace my Apple Express modem which I have used for over 10 years. The Airport Extreme is definitely the next generation. Faster, stronger, and more flexible. I'm glad I made the decision to upgrade as well as replace.

Upgraded previous router with this, signal strength and range is amazing. Reaches all the way around the house and even the back yard. Handles multiple devices well, wifi doesn't crash when the family comes to visit and logs on.

So simple to setup and works flawlessly. I wish I purchased earlier!!

Product works well. Now i have no problem with service with 2 consoles, laptops and all cell phone under the wifi.

I've had countless Linksys, D-Link and Netgear products and every single one of them have failed. This router covers my entire home and provides me extremely fast speeds over wifi. I couldn't possibly be happier with my purchase.

Way too ahead of competitors. It took me less than 5 minute to install and connect.. Even the wireless printer seup was done in no time. Before buying this I had purchased a different router and it just won't set up wireless printer., plus, the installation is not as easy.. If you are looking for router, this one definitely needs consideration

Great router! Keeps up with the speeds of the Internet that I'm subscribing for through my provider. Extremely simple to set up alone or even as a network with additional Apple routers to extend your network.

No, it may not be the ultra fastest when it comes to raw performance. However, I always get max speeds through WAN and very good speeds through LAN. Works great for gaming, and combined with solid internet I get steady 100Mbps down and 15Mbps up anywhere in my home. The reason to buy this router is that it JUST WORKS. SOLID. ALWAYS. I've never had ONE single dropped connection issue, never had to reboot it, ever. It just keeps on keeping on. Every single other router I've used would drop connections and require a reboot at least once a month, if not once a week. This router has not had a single issue in years of 24/7 use. BUY IT.

I upgraded from a 5th generation Apple Airport Extreme, hoping that this would be an improvement in speed, signal range, etc. After swapping the two units out, I was surprised at the results. Even after tweaking some settings on the new router, I was not getting noticeably faster signals at all. Speed tests would be slightly higher on my laptop, but would be a LOT slower on my iPhone 6. Then, my Epson Workforce printer would not work via the wireless network on any of my computers or other devices. I went back, switched back to the old router... speeds went back up, printer worked fine. I should probably say that the printer is about 6 months old, and everything else has been purchased in the past 2 years. Sorry Apple, this one is going back to the store. For $200, it should be better than this.
