Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the AirPort Extreme Base Station's ease of use, range, and performance. Many also highlight the strong signal strength and relatively easy setup process, resulting in great coverage. However, some customers find the price to be a bit high. A few also mention that the size could be smaller and that more Ethernet ports would be beneficial.

Great and easy to set up. I ran various speed tests, and it's been great in providing me all the wirless speed that I pay for through my provider. Have not had any issues or drop in signal strength.

I've had an Apple Airport Extreme for years and have loved them. They rarely have to be restarted and are super easy to manage. Now that I have a device with 802.11ac, I'm excited to have a router capable of the same.

Like most apple products the modem is packaged nicely and is very east to install. I set up in less than 5 minutes and works great. The new design is good as it has a smaller footprint as previous models. I highly recommend to anyone with a Mac computer (although it would work on Windows also). Costs a bit more, but worth every penny.

We purchased this unit because our Verizon wireless modem kept dropping signals in the corners of our one story house. We were recommended this one by another technician and we've been very pleased with it's performance. We no longer get dropped wifi anywhere in the house and it greatly improved our signal everywhere as well.

When the Verizon router started acting up and the overall speed and performace was weak, we opted to buy this router rather than pay Verizon for one of their new routers. And we are very happy that we did. Easy quick install, really like the guest network. Great security. And easy enough for my in-laws to use with out me being around.

Easy setup, works phenomenally and easy to set up as an extender. Also, it's cool that this is covered under apple care if you have apple care on a computer still in effect. That means about a 3 year warranty that most people don't know. I highly recommend these over any linksys or belkin or 2wire routers. Cheers!

I use these routers for all my installations at client accounts because of the ease in setup, especially when used with the Apple express wireless access points. The ability to setup as a bridged network could not be any easier, one check box is all that is required so that one password works throughout the network.

I purchased this to replace an old Linksys Router and Wireless Access Point. The AirPort Extreme setup quickly and easily. It provides me with the full bandwidth from my provider and the WiFi signal covers my entire house, as well as my back yard, about 250 feet long. This is an excellent product at a fair price.

My "name brand" router didn't reach the 3rd floor but fortunately broke, opening the door for me to buy an Apple router. I plugged it in, and went to watch TV. It took me under 2 minutes to set it up from my iPhone as I watched TV. It's ridiculously easy to set up, and it has a better signal than my previous equipment.

I purchased this unit to replace a failed airport extreme that has made it roughly 3 years. With the previous unit I had to add an airport express to extend the network throughout the house. This newer unit has a much better range and I am receiving wi-fi signals in areas of the house that used to cause issues.

I purchased this to expand my wireless network. I had a previous generation Apple Airport that has been working great, but with the ever expanding collection of wireless devices I've added to my house for home automation, I found that I needed something better to extend the wireless signal range to all the corners of my house. I bought this to add a second wireless signal to cover the second half of my house where I was getting choppy signal from my old unit. To my surprise, this new unit was able to reach all the corners of my house with excellent signal. If you are looking to upgrade, this unit will meet or exceed expectation. The setup was super fast and easy.

I have used many other routers, especially Netgear, and always had to call my internet provider to help with setup. With Airport Extreme, just plug in hook up and it works great. Over time my other routers would not work and I would have to unplug and turn on again to get to work. Have not had this problem with my Airport Exteme. The wifi range from the Airport Extreme is awesome. It reaches anywhere in my home without the signal weakening. Purchasing this item was well worth the price.

Super simple setup and great proprietary switching done on its own to give maximum speed to your critical network items. Never gonna Miss Cable if it keeps working the way it does. 75Mbs Vs 6Mbs should be very noticable But not with the way this thing manages your signal band width. worth every penny I paid.

Say what you will about buying further into Apple's "look but don't touch" ecosystem, this router just WORKS! After dealing with multiple dropouts, IP conflicts, and a daily ritual of reseting my Motorola SBG6580 with a paperclip over the past 6 months I had enough. I put it in bridge-mode to disable the router and wifi "features" turning it into a simple cable modem and bought Apple's Airport Extreme. Within minutes I was back online wired and wirelessly throughout my apartment in both 2.4GHZ & 5GHZ. Its been approx 4 weeks now and I have not once had dropout, IP conflicts and have yet to reach for that paperclip to reset the router even once. And did I mention it was FAST?!!! Just buy it....
