Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the AirPort Extreme Base Station's ease of use, range, and performance. Many also highlight the strong signal strength and relatively easy setup process, resulting in great coverage. However, some customers find the price to be a bit high. A few also mention that the size could be smaller and that more Ethernet ports would be beneficial.

So far, so good with the Apple router. I enjoy it so much that I purchased the AirPort Express as an extender for my downstairs. I like being able to set up more than one network and turning off the (kids) network after a couple of hours. No regrets upgrading to this router.

Purchased this for a relative whose router died. This was very simple to connect to a cable modem service. I just brought my Ipad to his house and used the airport utility on the Ipad to configure the router. I would say less than 10 minutes and he was up and running.

This is an elegant and beautiful soluition for a wi-fi device. Most of the others had antenae sticking out in every direction. This is built for the next generation of wi-fi so it should last for a long time.

The AirPort Extreme provides dramatically better range in our house than our previous AirPort Express. It also made adding our old AirPort Express to the network to extend the range even further amazingly easy.

    Apple Airport Extreme is great

I needed a wifi that had enough power for 10-12 device connections in my home. This new Apple Airport Extreme is a perfect solution. It not only gives me great range and power, it's fast too. What made me a true believer was that I had to set up a Chromecast to my tv recently. All I did was set up the Chromecast on the 2.4Ghz channel and set up my other devices on the 5.0Ghz channel. All devices are working great. I'm happy.

    Excellnet WIFI Router

So far, this router has turned out to be an excellent replacement for my old Netgear router. It took about ten minutes to unpack it, connect it, and install it. Our WIFI range is better and the signal strength is much stronger. Our internet speeds have improved as well. Another benefit is the router management software from Apple. It was free and very easy to understand and use (if you're a 'technopeasant', like me, you'll appreciate this fact). All in all, I would recommend this router to anyone.

Easiest set up ever. Fast fast fast. At first I thought it was pricey but it was worth it! Great connection in entire house! I wish I had upgraded to an Apple router years ago.

This is a fantastic router for people that just want to make it work. This point and click router is very simple to setup and use. The product does allow for robust user configuration as well. I use it for work and easily open and close ports needed for testing software.

Bought this to replace the router that came with my cable home internet. This is much more powerful than what I had and works infinitely better. Set up was a breeze and we have no problem connecting a slew of devices to it includeing iPads, iPhones, PCs and Macs.

I have had several problems with my WiFi not reaching my entire home. I have tried WiFi extenders and several WiFi hubs. Nothing worked to my satisfaction. My son told me about this product and I did some research on this product and could not find anything but goo remarks. After I purchased it and took it home it took me about 10 minutes to install and have it up and running. No problems and no more issues with WiFi on my network. The speed is great and I have a hard drive attached to the unit so I can backup my computer. Life I good. Another great Apple product!

    Works great with iMac Mini

After MS Windows 8.1 continually degraded its performance on my high-powered HP i7 to barely crawling speed, and after a multitude of time-wasting hours trying to "fix" it, I finally bit the Apple and transferred to a Mac mini with an i7 a year and a half ago and couldn't be happier. Soon after the transfer my Netgear NV4500 started flaking out on its 2.4 GHZ band. After almost buying another Netgear replacement, I bit the bullet and spent the additional $40 to get the comparably featured AirPort Extreme. Why? Because I didn't want to waste time fixing software issues between the mini and a 3rd party vendor's product, which is what I always ended up having to do with Windows. With Apple, you plug their junk together, let it do its syncing/updating thing, AND IT WORKS! Including after all of their the software updates!! I should've moved to Apple years ago, but better late to the party than never...

We were not planning to buy this when we went shopping for a new router, but we love all of our other Apple products and so decided to give it a shot. The set-up was super simple through our cable modem and maintenance was a snap with the AirPort Utility. We were impressed. Unfortunately, we just moved and are having difficulty figuring out how to use the AirPort Extreme with our new internet company's modem/router combo, so I reduced the stars from 5 to 4.

I purchased this item after reading several reviews about this router and routers from linksys and netgear. I was a long time linksys user and a few years ago I switched to netgear. I began to have problems with both companies with regards to wireless connectivity. My equipment was a bit older and I wanted to move to the ac standard. Every review said the apple router, though expensive, is a great product. This is especially true if you are doing a small home network with a few pieces of equipment. We have no issues at all with the router. We are a mixed tech home with an iMac, two PCs, a network printer, and iPhones. My only minor issue is that I wish it had at least one more wired port. We only do wireless for the phones. We also are using a surfboard modem and we have Comcast as a provider. For those that like streaming, Netflix with this setup has been fantastic. Be Blessed

Apple makes really solid products and the AirPort Extreme® Wireless Base Station is no exception. One of the biggest differences I noticed when we upgraded to this device is the increased range of our Wi-Fi network. Plus, it just looks very sleek and stylish.

Apple simplifies so much of what is difficult for at least some of us out there... this is another great example. Really like this unit, and really like the bonus in pick up speed while on the Internet.

Another great Apple product with amazing wifi speed. It's very easy to connect to your cable modem and get set up. You will be up and running in 10 min or less. It was also easy to use with 2 older Airport Extremes to extend my network around my home and property.

This is my second AirPort Extreme. One for work, one for home. ;-) I've tried the high end Asus, and the Linksys... Junk! This router is boring, because I turn it on, and it WORKS! I don't have to exchange, RMA, or sell on eBay. Set it and Forget it... Enjoy! :-D

All the power of great wifi router, and you plug it in, and it works. That shouldn't be such a feat, but for all others it seems to be. Cable company blamed 2 other routers I bought and I thought they were crazy. Plugged this in and haven't had a signal drop.

Easy three step setup! Effortless your mac or pic will walk you through the three step process to setup and within five minutes you have a power router. We have a 4500sqft home and it is located in the office on the far side of the house, we still get excellent coverage from corner-to-corner all the way outside the home on our property! Always have been an Apple guy and never am disappointed with any of there products! I would highly recommend this for someone with multi use needs or even just for one single devise! You won't be disappointed!!!
