Previously had the airport express this improved the wireless range in my home. Would give it 5 stars if it had the Airplay functionality like my airport express.

This is my 2nd affair with an apple router. It doesn't disappoint. Setup was easy, range very decent, and easily extendable. The last one was a set and forget affair, and this didn't seem much different. Unfortunately not perfect, still lacks some frills. upnp would be nice, I've still had to manually open a port from time to time, plays very nice with apple devices (of course) and non apple devices as well.

I purchesed this to replace my older time capsule B/G/N router. Being an AC router I get faster wifi and can connect over 8 devices without losing spped. It is expensive; bt what apple device isn't overpriced. I live in ranch house with basement. The router can connect fine in the far areas of basement and the farthest bedrrom. Router is in office on opposite side from all bedrooms.

Love this apple airport! I have 3 of these in my home and the 802.11ac allows high speed wireless to the point that I use it to extend the wireless in my home and get ethernet access somewhere where I didn't want to run cable to. You can easily add one of these to your network in a bridge mode and then you get 3 ethernet ports on the back to use!

We use 2 to get full coverage of the house and they work great.

I really like the airport extremes. They are so easy to setup and are much more powerful than the isp wifi routers meaning better coverage. Only disadvantage is remote access for VPNs not being a feature.

Set up was fast, less than 15min. Works great for what we do.

The performance of the router is outstanding and it looks great.

Our home network is a cable modem from Verizon which is then connected by Ethernet to an Apple base station. Our original base station died after 9 years. So I purchased this to replace it. Most things with Apple are "plug it in and it works" and this was no exception, but with one hitch. I could not get the Airport utility app on my iPhone or iPad to see this new base station. I went to my Mac Book to google a solution and noticed that the OS on my Mac Book was asking if I wanted to add this base station to a new or existing network. So go right to the Airport Utility within the Mac OS and skip the mobile apps and this will be easy to set up. Range is pretty good but we have one dead spot I used an Airport Express to fix.

This router was set up in minutes…it literally replaced our old router in less than 10 minutes. It has functioned perfectly since we installed it, and I have yet to restart it. Excellent coverage in our over 2000 square foot house.
