Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the AirPort Extreme Base Station's ease of use, range, and performance. Many also highlight the strong signal strength and relatively easy setup process, resulting in great coverage. However, some customers find the price to be a bit high. A few also mention that the size could be smaller and that more Ethernet ports would be beneficial.

This router was easy to setup. I had it up and running in a matter of minutes. Range and device capacity are way better than my AT&T uverse router I used before. Definetly worth the money!

I loved my previous iteration of AirPort Extreme. in the four+ years I had it I had zero issues/malfunctions/problems with it. in the same time span my sister, who is an IT support specialist, was on her 3rd router in the same time period (linksys, netgear, motorola). I got the new one because 1- I liked the way it looked and 2 - I wanted to give my sister my other Airport Extreme so she could see for herself. Apple products, in my 20+ years as a loyal user, are more expensive initially but require less repair/replacement. All devices running through my Airport are Apple but this one seriously was up and running within 90 seconds of plugging it into an outlet.

The new AirPort Extreme is a great product. I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to expand an existing network. Verify what features you want / need and make sure that the device delivers on core needs. This is my first airport extreme. In my case for dhcp reservations, there's no listing for the addresses that have been distributed, nor a listing of what address goes to which mac (device). If you want to create a reservation, it's a manual process. There's no ability to sort your reservations, so plan your scope accordingly or keep a separate spreadsheet / list of ip and mac information. From a connectivity standpoint the router has performed flawlessly. Can't say enough about this. ;) Even with the few annoyances I would definitely reccomended this device.

I like very much. This work very well in home with many devices. Easy to install and use and much faster than my older models. If you need to upgrade your router, this is a good option.

Easy install, and works wonderfully. No problems with using wireless equipment up stairs any more, there's no more dropped signal, and or no signal at all. Love this, it's so fast!

I cannot count the number of routers that I have tried over the years. Models from Asus, D-Link, among others have never been reliable and always disappointed after dropping too much money on them. While the Apple router was a premium pricepoint, you definitely get what you pay for. After a few months of solid use including online gaming as well as a ton of Netflix and Hulu streaming, I am happy to say that this router has been incredibly reliable with ZERO problems. I am so thankful to be beyond rebooting a router every other day. Save yourself the aggrevation and buy yourself one of these. It is money well spent.

This is my third airport extreme. Not as a replacement, but as an extension for my network throughout my house and detached building. They work great and are very easy to set up. If you are buying one to extend your wireless signal and have the ability to hardwire two units together or both to a switch/router, then don't use that option during setup under the wireless signal. Through much digging, I found you should just have the second or third one create a wireless LAN too, just name it the same as the other one and use the same passcode. This will allow your devices to connect to either one seamlessly.

I recently upgraded from the older model airport express to the extreme and so far it has surpassed every expectation. Functionally the wireless connection is fast, far and strong throughout the entire house. aesthetically it looks great, and is not an eyesore like most other brands.

Apple wireless routers are very easy to configure but amazingly so for Mac or iPad users. This Airport Extreme Base Station was among the first to support the 802.11ac high speed standard and has 2 simultaneous transceivers so as to have one set up as high speed only and one backwards compatible with slower devices.

I was looking for a new modem for our house. We have 4 people in our house and needed something that would make it easy for all of us to use our devices without lag time. This has really met our family needs. Not had any problems and usually have like 8 devices logged on at one time.

A great router for data and streaming

Was looking for a more reliable router with better range and streaming speed than our Linksys 4300 which required an extender to reach the tv in the family room. This fit the bill. Set up using my Macbook took under 10 minutes. No longer need an extender to reach from the bottom floor to the top floor over 50' and through two floors. Have not had to reboot the router except for once when our provider was working in the area and service was briefly interrupted. Love the small footprint and how it looks on my bookshelf too. Have a back up drive attached that I access wirelessly. Love this router and will likely recommend it to anyone who asks.

In my opinion, this is the absolute best wireless router for home and small business users (up to 50 devices/users) at this price point. Great value! I have been told that it out-performs similar priced units and I must agree. Very easy and powerful... great wireless coverage :-)

The Airport Extreme assumes too little knowledge on the end user's part. If the interface decides you can't extend a network there is not much you can do but reset and try again. Some of the advanced options are hard to find. After you've Googled and piddled a bit you'll be fine. The tightly controlled interface aside - this thing is awesome! We have an Airport/Time capsule in the living room, an Airport Extreme at the end of the house and another out in the garage. We can stream music/video and check netcams all over the property. I can listen to Pandora on the tractor and stream classical music while cleaning the chicken coop. Nice!

We were having huge problems with Wi-Fi in our home. Unfortunately the xfinity modem has to be in the basement of a 6,000 Sq Ft home. Even with the supposed strongest router available and a matching extender our upstairs was lacking any kind of signal. The AirPort Extreme and one Apple extender now gets the Wi-Fi signal to literally every nook and cranny in the house. It's the best signal strength we've had in years. Wish I had done this earlier. And, we are having absolutely no issues with disconnects or dropped signals. I can't recommend this piece of equipment enough. It's been a lifesaver for us!

Great if your a Apple user. Super easy setup, monitoring from phone is convenient and it has a strong signal. With a clean white base it's ascetically appealing.
